Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Mans Chest

Forget about the critics, they're wrong. Reviewed in light of the first movie this second instalment is a fantastic adventure. It's a fitting sequel, filled with all the laughs that you'd expect, and if you're a fan of the first movie then you'll more than likely love the second one. Nat and I did anyway.

There is some excellent character development throughout the movie, which is fantastic considering most of the characters are already well known. In turn this development throws some great twists into the plot, not least at the end.

If the film does suffer from any kind of weakness then it's that rather than being the second film in a trilogy it's more a first of a two-part sequel. So while the first film was pretty much a stand alone entity this second film won't really complete until the third movie releases.

Personally I'd rate Dead Mans Chest 4 fingers out of 5. It's a worth sequel that didn't let me down and its good enough that I will buy the DVD to go with my copy of the first film.
