Tower Bridge

I love driving over Tower Bridge. Not only for the fantastic views of central London, but also just for the feeling it evokes. Driving under those huge towers is like being transported into another era. A more regal era.

Unfortunately, shortly after crossing the river I plow through Bermondsey and Peckham and the image is shattered as reality reasserts itself. The sign reads, "Welcome to South East London: You Really Wish You Didn't Live Here".

Ahh, maybe I'm being a bit too harsh. We have an alright flat and we haven't heard any gunfire in absolutely ages now!

Moving on, if you have a web page... and let's face it, if you're reading this then you probably do... you need Google Analytics. Via Life Hacker. But that was completely aside.

I've been secretly lusting after the Canon Digital Rebel for the last couple of weeks. I've looked at all the kits, all the online and high street options, and even decided on where to purchase the camera. Mentally I've actually already paid for it and adjusted my cashflow shape to reflect the impact. However, in the last couple of days I've somehow made peace with the fact that I don't need an 8 megapixel DSLR right now. I really don't! And that in all honesty there are a million very cool things that I could be doing with my existing camera. And until I really start to use it more I shouldn't be shelling out 600 beer tokens for a penis extention. This is more evidence that I may finally be growing up.

So the plan moving forward is to use my camera for more than just chonicling my life and to start to use it more as a creative outlet. I have some great ideas for stitched pics and I'm quite excited about getting to grips with them. I'll see what can be done this weekend if the weather plays along. If everything pans out then maybe in a couple of months I'll be in a position to actually justify a new camera. Perhaps even the new 400D Digital Rebel XTi.

** Update: I've finally set up an Atom feed for the site. RSS is putting up more of a fight and just won't validate right now. It's something to do with the head of my index file.
